We arrived in Rome this morning. Got 4 hours of sleep on the plane and I'm raring to hit the town. Instead I'm in a little bistro sipping cappicino while Cindy takes a nap. Travel to the hotel from the airport was a lot of fun. We hunted down the train station, caught it to a dumpy graffiti laden stop where we meandered our way around busy streets to a tobacco shop where a bought tickets for a bus. We road that to our hotel area in an old part of the city. Cobblestone streets, bars on windows, graffiti every where. The Hotel Santa Maria is on a long back ally, through a locked wrought iron gate in a charming enclosed courtyard area. We asked several people directions on the way. Real nice people. My friend Tim who lives in Turkey tells me people will give you wrong directions on the streets in Istanbul just to save face. People here gave us great help. Cindy just showed and we are on the road. Yea! something to
