Although the writings in the Advent booklet have more of a Christmas tone, I see a relationship of this poem to the Advent season in the spiritual sense of....”waiting." I propose that God is waiting for us even more then we are waiting for Him!!. We are not alone during this season (or any season for that matter). He is waiting for us to accept Him......to open our minds and hearts and let Him fill us. He is always here, always near and always watching and ready to welcome our acceptance of Him in our lives.. Sometimes ....I forget that. He is reminding us that he is knocking on the door of our hearts. “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. “ Rev. 3:20 “
Again, I see much of what happens in life as a reminder that He is waiting for us as much as we are waiting for him!
Always There
I’m here with you both day and night
There’s no place I can’t reach.
The deep recesses of your mind
Or Costa Rican Beach
In sky, on land, or ocean swell
You’ll know that I am near.
Whispers carried on the wind
Only your soul can hear
I hold each star given to the sky
Nothing escapes my hand
Every beat of every heart
Sahara’s grains of sand
I place angels in your path
Won’t seem from up above
But they’ll show you things
Your eyes have missed
From indifference grow new love
I know each hair upon your head
Can number tears that fell
Measure depths, count all your breaths
Every thought you’d never tell
I know your hopes and all desires
Your hurts and sorrows too
You’re not alone; your heart’s my home
I’m always here for you
