Big Things Happen in Small Groups
Some ministers have not experienced the impact of
grappling, openly and honestly, with their personal
life story. A focus group can point those in ministry
toward a helpful method, good model and a safe setting for doing the very intimate
and difficult work of exploring the depth of our personal life stories. There is a dynamic interplay at work between
the life of the minister and the congregation.
As we understand and reflect on our own life narrative, we can better
understand our role in the life of the congregation. We need an ongoing relationship with a small
group of other ministers who are trained and committed to offer insights into
our stories, their stories and our service within the context of our
congregations.
