In this picture from "Walk Thru the Bible," there is a happy “Hmmm” bull flipping “Ns.” You’ve just learned the name of the book, Philippians (Flippin’ Ns), and its key word, Happily Humble. The apostle Paul was happily humble as he wrote from prison to the Philippian church. If Jesus’ church is going to endure in difficult times, its leaders must be the examples. Jesus suffered in an exemplary way, and in the book of Philippians we find Paul experiencing joy even as he was chained in prison—a “happily humbling” experience. Joy in adverse circumstances is the theme of this book, and Paul urges believers to focus on Christ, for He is true life (1:21). He also urges believers not to be anxious, to live in peace and harmony with each other, and to have the mind of Christ in their suffering.
