First Congregational Church is increasingly known as a loving community of caring followers of Jesus Christ.
Many have experienced our gracious embrace this summer with the exhilarating Music Camp, stirring Clarion Kids Concert, delightful Musical Showcase, thoughtful Bible studies, inspirational times of worship, and the refreshing day of water games, fun and relaxation at Forest Home Lake. I greatly appreciate all the planning and dedication of many in our church family who have helped make these things happen.
In addition to the wonderful leaders and servants who have been busy advancing the ministries of the church throughout the summer, many more have been preparing for the fall season and our long-term ministries into the future.
On Sunday September the 12th we will have uplifting worship, games for the kids, a Family Barbeque, and a Chili Cook-off. That day will also be the start of 252KIDS, a fabulous children’s program that will build on the enjoyable learning of Gadgets & Gizmos this summer. Our popular Rummage Sale will return in mid-September and then we will add the inspirational Alpha Course to the beloved Bethel program as Kirk Night starts up the first week of October.
I am so thankful for all the people who generously share Christ’s love in the ways they serve. Some serve in upfront and visible ways. Many more people offer fulfilling service in less visible ways. All the contributions make a difference and are greatly appreciated. If you want to live out your faith through Christian service in some new ways in the life of the church, I encourage you to talk with me about this.
You may also benefit from our online S.H.A.P.E. Survey. I believe that we each have a special place where we can make a difference in the lives of others through our church. I want to help you grow in the discovery and the use of your Spiritual Gifts, heart-passions, abilities, personalities, and experience. As we each use our unique SHAPE, our church will continue in its positive direction to be the kind of place where Christ’s love meet our life and expands to more and more people throughout the community.
